Autism Spectrum Disorder movie in the works

Revolution Studios has set Nigel Cole to direct Strange Son, a movie based on a book by Portia Iverson. It tells the true story of her quest to be able to communicate with her autistic son. Iverson researched autism in an attempt to break through the wall that kept her son from being able to communicate with her. She found a rapid prompting technique via a woman in India, and began using it. It involved a series of touches that allow the autistic child to drown out the static in his brain, allowing him to communicate by touching letters and writing words. Bruce Joel Rubin adapted the screenplay.
